To ensure the best match for puppy placement with forever families, there are a few simple steps we ask you to follow. These important elements have repeatedly proven to lead to successful partnerships amongst you and your new family member as well as with the rest of our Ivy League family. We will develop a relationship and discuss everything ahead of time, even before you get your puppy, in order to help you prepare for your new addition. To get started, follow the steps below:
1. Puppy Application – The Puppy Application includes basic questions pertaining to your current living situation, previous pet ownership and overall abilities to care for a dog. The answers you provide will be used to initiate our discussions and serve as a working template moving forward. You can find the Puppy Application here
2. Initial Contact – Once we receive your completed Puppy Application, we will contact you by phone or email to discuss the needs and expectations you have for your future dog. The more we know about your lifestyle, the better we are able to choose the puppy with the right temperament for you. For example, if you live an active lifestyle (sports, outdoor activities…), then you will not be happy with a “couch potato” dog. Additionally, if you are looking for a dog to compete in specific sports or activities, then that dog must have the corresponding drive and temperament.
3. Arrange a Meeting - After we discuss your wants and needs for your future dog, we will invite you and your family to come visit our dogs and meet us. This is a requirement. When planning our meeting, please set aside time to spend an hour or more at our location. You will get to meet all of the dogs (with 4 generations on the ground, we often board litter siblings while owners are out of town) and see their temperaments. If you are out of state and would like to fly here, then we can arrange to pick you up from Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport. We will also bring you back to the airport happy and covered in slobber 😊. It is very important that you feel comfortable with us as our relationship will continue throughout the life of your dog (and beyond). If you have any questions or require advice, then we want you to feel confident that you can contact us at any time.
4. Contract Review – After we have gotten to know one another, we will review the contract together. Once the terms are understood, accepted and contract signed, we will move forward with a deposit to secure your puppy position.
We have a secret and active Facebook group for Ivy League family members. Everyone is encouraged to help each other and share in the achievements (or daily blunders) of their pets. Many of our dogs are in different states, and you may have someone close to you to go meet and visit first, that’s an option also.
We train and are active in a variety of sports. We provide discounted training classes and boarding and grooming services for all of the Corsos we produce. You can always bring your dog for
boarding when going on vacation and we can work, train and love on them while you are away.
Ivy League provides lifetime support, health guarantees and temperament matching for all dogs.
